Too late - you looked.

We're fostering a mama cat and kittens again - this time we witnessed the birth.  A few meows and voila: five kittens, now 1 week old.

The mama is very affectionate and seems quite healthy.  After all, five is a much more reasonable number than nine, for all of us.  From two years ago, this one's for Jay:

Apologies to all those with crazy cat ladies across the street. Don't worry, when the five kittens are 2.5 lbs, we'll take them all back to the shelter to get adopted out.  In the meantime, they're not only overwhelmingly adorable, they stimulate a lot of interesting discussion: issues of moving and permanence, benefits of cats vs. dogs, high nutrient content of placenta, etc.

  1. That's quite a pride you have there. Nice job foster parents! I'm proud of you.
