sun and snow

The last week's been pretty gorgeous, but I neglected to show pics of the rain, sun, hail and snow that fell (in that order) a couple weeks ago:

A few days a week we've been getting out to Smith and Morehouse reservoir, where Brian investigates potential surrounding chutes and I scramble to my heart's content.  The other day it was quiet enough that we 1) watched a beaver casually fortify his dam in the lackadaisical sun, and 2) got buzzed by mysterious helicopters scoping the dam.  B went back the other day with a neighbor and hiked up (and rode down) a chute he was eyeing:
